from 1982 to 1999 he has an intense artistic activity with painting and sculpture exhibitions, and in the theatre he realizes performance as an actor and set designer.
from 1990 till today he is the director of the ceramic school Raku in Pozzuoli.
In 1999 he projects and realizes ceramic objects Raku. With these objects he participates in several international fairs in Milan, Paris, Francoforte, New york, Montreal, Arabs Emirates. His objects are displayed in private and public collections all over the world. Musician and composer he has organized and he has taken part in folk music festival in Italy and abroad. As a composer he has written the music and he has recorded at the Siae books of F. Pessoa, E. Morante, G.Brassens, P.Ingrao, J.Brodsky, L.Carretta, M. Grasso, M. Sovente, P. Oldani, M. De Gemmis, H. Hesse.
From 2009 to 2013 as the president of the association Leaf he tries to make connections between institutions and human resources. From 2006 till today he produce and promote the international project of Art Campi Flegrei.

mimmo grassoMimmo Grasso


Mimmo Grasso was born in Calabria but he lives in Campi Flegrei. He has done classical literature studies and cultural anthropology. He has worked in the management field and in the Human resources. He has written several cognitivist essays and he has analyzed Italian and foreign authors, preferring those of the Mediterranean linguistic area. He is a recognized poet and he has also test himself in the visual arts and in the artist’s book of limited editions. He is translated in different languages. His theatre’s works have been set up in the Asylum Anteatro Vergini and some texts have seen the contribution of the group Echi Flegrei. He is the vice president of the Istituto Patafisico Partenopeo.

laura bascoLaura Basco

 

Architect and teacher of Landscape Design in Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples (Academy of Fine Arts).
She is involved in the research and practice in artistic regeneration of urban and territorial environments, in sustainable and shared projection of territories and mainly in self- construction.
Thanks to the workshop with her students, three years ago she created a Laboratory Everyday Landscape [Laboratorio Paesaggi Quotidiani] that gives a yearly artistic construction site specific in Naples urban area.
She got several work experiences in shared projection applied to the territorial public politics; besides, she has been a supervisor in the project Nidificare i Paduli [Building nests of swamps] (Regione Puglia), consultant of the project “Custodi del paesaggio” [Guardians of Landscape], consultant senior in the research “Le città de Medterraneo” [Mediterranean towns] (Fondazione Campania dei Teatri, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II).
She is linked with the international group of young researchers Aesop YA.
She is one of the founding members of the Association Indizi Terrestri [Earth clues] and she is a consultant of magazines such as Napoli Monitor and Squaderno.

sveva d antonioSveva D'Antonio


She was born in 1989, she has got a degree in History of art and preservation of the artistic patrimony at the University Suor Orsola Benincasa, with a thesis entitled “Looking Godard, cinema as an object of exposition in the contemporary art museum”. The studies of Sveva D’Antonio have been various from art to fashion and cinema till the design. A lot of interests that are visible also in her activities outside the academic study. From 2010 Sveva D’Antonio is the curator of Neapolitan young artists, she has worked for two important Neapolitan contemporary art galleries and in one gallery in Brussels where she has improved her English and French. In the X Land Art competition she is responsible of the contacts with the Foreign Culture’s Institutions in Naples and of all the set up and the logistic aspects of the project.

She graduated in 2012 in History of Art with a modern path at the Università Suor Orsola Benincasa, Naples with an essay on the Museum education. After the graduation she has done a master called “Educational services for the artistic heritage of the historical museums and for the visual arts” at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. She has done several internships post-lauream in Naples and at the Pinacoteca of Capodimonte and in Milano at the Pinacoteca of Brera.
During the University she discovered her interest in the education of the heritage as an instrument of social consciousness, for this reason Roberta has participated, with the support of different associations, in many actions whose aim has been to alert people to their territory and to propose a sustainable tourism. She has founded with other 11 members an association of social promotion called Fantasmatica who promote the humanistic culture and it give value to the Neapolitan territory and its history.

Manuela Esposito completed her PhD in “Cultural and Postcolonial Studies of the Anglophone World” at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, with a dissertation devoted to “Elemental Landscapes. Writing Natures of the Contemporary Feminine Diaspora”. Her research explores the connections between the philosophical concept of Nature as elaborated by Baruch Spinoza in his Ethic, and the Caribbean diasporic feminine writing, in particular in the works by Helen Oyeyemi, Elizabeth Nunez, M.E. John and Andrea Levy. She has published  “Is It Possible to Archive Nature? Practices of Feminine Memory” (Estetica, 2012), e “Tales of Transit: Andrea Levy, Roshini Kempadoo and Julie Otsuka” (Anglistica 2013).

PhD in Anglophone Cultural and Postcolonial Studies, Department of Human and Social Sciences, University of Naples “L’Orientale”. Her research analyses the visual (auto)biography of female artists from Mediterranean countries as a contrapuntal example set against the epistemology of geographical, cultural and sexual borders. She is interested in public art practices coming from the experience of migrations as ‘living archives’ of postcoloniality. She has participated in national and international conferences and has produced articles on literature, cinema and, above all, the visual arts.
Appointed Researcher of the European project MeLa* (European Museums in the Age of Migrations), focused on the rethinking of the museums and archives in the light o the contemporary processes of migration. Her research fields are Cultural Studies, Visual Studies, Postcolonial Arts, Feminist Theory and Art, the Ethics and Aesthetics of the border and border-crossing, above all in the Mediterranean area.

francesca panicoFrancesca Panico

 

Francesca Panico  graduated in 2006 in Conservation and Restoration at the Naples Academy of Fine Arts.  She is an art restorer, a journalist and an art curator. In 2008, she was present  at the Biennial of  young artists from Europe and the Mediterranean. Journalist for the website and e-magazine "ilmondodisuk", she writes for the quarterly review ArteeCritica. In 2013, she worked as a press officer for ADISU Parthenope University in Naples; in the same year, she took part, as president of the cultural association "Fra Vip", to the event " Il Clan degli artisti", taking care of the exhibition “Lampi d’arte” and writing  the book "ArtexArte: dieci talenti vulcanici” (pusblished by ilmondodisuk) that was presented at the Madre Museum in Naples. For Land Art 2014 exibition  she is responsible for managing media relations.

Maya Pacifico is an art critic and historian; she got her degree in University of Literature and Philosophy “Ca’ Foscari” and her degree was concerning contemporary art history. She has been a member of Flash Art editorial staff and correspondent from Naples; she has been also cooperating with Exibart and Art Apart of Cult(ure). She got her own column in Arslife. Besides, she has been cooperating for two years in the monthly magazine N.Y. Metropolitan Museum and the “Palais” review (Tokyo Palais in Paris).
Her deep love and interest for painting and drawing is more than ten year long. It’s about two years ago when she got the decision to exhibit her works in which she has been experimenting various techniques: drawing, painting, collage and mixed techniques on canvas. In her more recent works, here you are some sentences written by using some lead, on a support made of burned pages and stuck each other under a teasel ply; each sentence corresponds with a sculpture made of paper cut out of so many movable strips: these sheets of book keep inside the remains and the witnesses of a real living humanity, of something that is by then dissolved but, indeed, still able to communicate a truly meaningful message.
It’s almost hard for these works to take place among every usual kind of contemporary art: they are not painting, they are not sculpture, they cannot fall under any known category of art.
In their installing feature you can find out their own double soul: the first one is assertive, practical, positive, dynamic, turned into creative gesture and flexible dimensions for any sort of space. The second soul is more spiritual, the one that offers a mainly opposition interpretation, and you can see what the work is telling you in its sedimentation, in its ability to catch a backlit vision of spaces, memories, stories.

giorgio salzanoGiorgio Salzano

 

Was born in Naples in 1979 and he grew up in an artistic environment as he is the futurist sculptor G. Roehrssen’s nephew.
He wrote his graduation thesis about G. Roehrssen’ s art and got his degree in Modern Literature (Lettere Moderne) in the University Federico II, Naples.
Since 2009 he is a freelance journalist for several newspapers in Campania area such as “Roma” and he has been publishing a lot of articles and editorials concerning art criticism.
Deeply interested and never tired of travelling, he is a consultant of the Galleria d’arte comtemporanea (Contemporary art gallery) “Alfonso Artiaco”.

He lives in Campi Flegrei and he works as territorial architect for the Regional Administration (Campania) in the Department of Territorial Policy.
Since 1983 until 1992, he had been teaching as assistant professor in Facoltà di Architettura (Faculty of Architecture)in Naples for the classes of Urban Planning (Progettazione urbana) under academic supervision of Professor Agostino Lemma and Professor Alberto Ferlenga.
Since 1995 until 2009, he has been holding public nominations, as follows:
. since 1995: Assessore del Territorio (for territorial policy), Comune di Bacoli (Municipality of Bacoli)
.since 1996: Coordinator for the territorial agreement of Campi Flegrei (Patto territoriale), for the PIT of Campi flegrei, for the PIT Pompei- Ercolano
.since 2005 until 2009: President of Parco regionale of Campi Flegrei
.since 2006: Coordinator of VESUVIA (regional plan for mitigating volcanic risks) and winner of the 1st price in the competition ”Concorso-Forum PA Regionando 2005”
During 2006 and 2007 he has been a member of the Projecting Team for the Piano Territoriale Regione Campania (PTR)
Nowadays he is a member of the regional team working for the Strategia Nazonale aree interne (National strategics for internal areas),
